Allan Mears

Allan started fixing clocks when he was 16, apprenticing with a local repair shop, learning all that he could. Moving on to trade work where he collected clocks from several shops, Allan repaired and tested them, and returned them several weeks later. This provided an expanded opportunity to work on many different clocks and learn from local experts. He continued doing trade work for about 47 years before retiring. As one of the lead instructors for the past five years, Allan enjoys sharing “tricks of the trade” with new students as well as repair procedures that help assure success.
